Jenny Duff and Emily Tull's Community Knitting Project Session

I was asked by Jenny Duff if I would like to document her and Emily Tull's new community knitting project, bringing communities and individuals of all ages together to knit, chat and have an enjoyable time. The first session was a couple of weeks ago and it was a lovely day.

The most I have ever knitted is a pom pom (I think it was black and yellow to represent a bumble bee!) a long time ago so I enjoyed watching everyone knit, some of the more experienced were really fast too :-)

The outcome of this project after another session or two will be a book, highlighting the skill sharing, the people that participated and documenting the beginning and making of a great project. If you would like to know more about getting involved in the 'KnitterKnitKnitKnit' project, take a look at the facebook page here.

Here is a selection of images which illustrate the first session. If you would like a Portrait Session of your own, of you, your family or partner or if you have a community project you would like documenting, please email me at melissacontreras@hotmail.co.uk and we can talk :-) You could also 'like' my facebook page to get updates about new work and blogs being posted, here.

Mel x
